An Chuairt Poetry Bilingual Competition

Put pen to paper for An Chuairt
Poetry Competition!!
Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge
are running a bilingual Poetry Competition during the Cuairt na bhFilí
Albanacha festival. Entrants can submit newly composed poetry
in either Gaeilge or Gàidhlig, along with an English translation.
There is no entry fee for this
competition, and poets are not limited in terms of material, length,
theme or style. Applications will be accepted by e-mail only to
sile@comhdhail.ie before 23 April 2008. The best eight poems will
be chosen, (in either Gàidhlig or Gaeilge) and the successful poets
will have an opportunity to read their work at the grand final of the
competition which is taking place in De Burgo’s, in Galway City on
the 7th May 2008. The overall winner will be chosen on the
night, and the prize will consist of a writing workshop of the winner's
choice, up to a value of €500. The poem will be published in
Nuachtlitir na Comhdhála in the month of June.
