What Would Frued Say?

13. Jeanne & Francesco Wrestle With Animal Rights Ethics And A Jewish Psychoanalyst.

Jeanne and Francesco dressed in their usual attire, exit an elevator onto a posh floor. They walk gingerly on the polished wood floors and Oriental carpet and past mahogany furniture. They enter a receptionist area for Dr. Kratz' office. A suave young woman with a dark complexion greets the odd couple.

"Good morning, may I help you?"

Francesco responds, "Yes, we are Francesco and Jeanne. We scheduled an appointment for
10 o'clock."

The receptionist looks through her leather bound appointment book. "Oh, yes, here you are. Do you have last names?"

Press Release for All Saints' Day blog novel

PRESS RELEASE:
ALL SAINTS' DAY (SUPER-NATURAL HEROES)
BLOG NOVEL

If these saints can make it in New York, they can make it anywhere…

Seattle, Washington--U.S.A, Patricia L. Herlevi blogged her entire metaphysical comic novel, All Saints' Day (Super-Natural Heroes), as part of a literary experiment. Although the novel began as a free write, a marriage between famous Christian saints, Francesco of Assisi and Jeanne D'Arc of France emerged and ignited a comic journey that fused magic realism with slapstick comedy; supernatural abilities with human frailties.

Inspired by Catholic saints that graced her mother's collection of Catholic school cards and the animated super heroes of Patricia's childhood, All Saints' Day marries ancient and modern sensibilities. Although the novel was originally written as a book manuscript, its short chapters lend itself to the blogosphere. And in fact, readers as far away as the Philippines and China have been regular visitors to the All Saints' Novel blog.

53. Francesco & Bernardo Find A New Meaning For Indian Giving.

Bernardo feels the train vibrating beneath his belly. He stretches his paws far out in front of himself and he falls back asleep. He doesn't recall ever riding a train before, but he feels safe tucked under or nearby Francesco's feet. It's odd seeing Francesco's feet swaddled in shoes since the image of bare feet has been associated with the saint. But Bernardo has learned how to adapt and probably better than the other seekers.

Francesco rewrites his speech on a small plastic table in front of him. He takes a sip of his tea, but the tea tastes too thick to him. He prefers the more watered down version. He writes down a paragraph then crosses it out. He's not sure what to say to the elders or the council. What can he tell them that they don't already know?

All Saints Day--Author Interviews Herself

All Saints' Day
Q & A

(Canadian virtuoso pianist Glenn Gould was known for interviews with himself. One of those interviews can be found on his Brahms collection of ballads and rhapsodies. I'm listening to the CD as I type this document. I find his approach, the artist interviewing self, fascinating and insightful, therefore, I have chosen to interview myself. Patricia Herlevi-Balquin or PHB represents the journalist and Patty-Lynne Herlevi or PLH represents the author of All Saints' Day. Shall we begin?)

Patricia Herlevi-Balquin: What is your fascination with Christian saints? Are you Catholic and why write a metaphysical comedy about these saints?
