Dusk: Chapter 1 ~incomplete~

Lit Body:

I stood there just staring; staring off into space with a blank gaze. I have no idea what caused myself to do that. I guess I glimpsed something in my periphery that my mind could not grasp or was unable to. A slight breeze swept through the stone courtyard, whipping my coat around my knees. I really hate fall because of the cold weather and the sense of dread that hangs in the air. Shadows moved along the edges and walls of the courtyard as if some ethereal music was forcing them in some other-worldly dance. Silence was all around me, filling the courtyard with its tactile presence.

"Hello Lucian," a female voice whispered from the very air itself. A cold sweat broke on my forehead as I pulled my coat tighter on my body. As if I was having an out-of-body experience, the courtyard slowly turned around me. The lively shadows began to swirl and form into a fairly recognizable form: a woman. An unnatural shiver ran along my spine from the impossible event I was experiencing from an other-worldly vantage point. Panic screamed through every fiber of my body, yet for some unexplainable reason my mind remained calm and unnaturally removed and disconnected from the strange and weird event unfolding in front of me.

"Hello, my love," whispered the woman as she slowly walked towards me, her hips accentuating her movement. "It has been to long of a time since I have seen you." A shimmering aura randomly danced over her, obscuring her ethereal beauty. "Have you missed me, my lovely Lucian," the woman asked as she lightly rand a hand over my right shoulder as she began to circle me.

"What do you want of me, Chaos," I asked the woman as I licked my lips, easing the nervous dryness of them. "I last remember you banishing me from your House. You are not known for your ability to forgive." The turtleneck I was wearing clung to my from the nervous anxiety that the woman brought on.

She began to laugh as my response reached her pointed, elf ears. "You disappoint me, Lucian, my dearest boy. Your sister is so much more observant of status and the rules of society." The words spoken by the woman struck several nerves within my body. Closing my hands into fists, I clinched them until my knuckles were as white as the courtyard's walls.

"You mean, Chaos, that my former kin is subservient to your unquestioned tyranny. Also, Chaos, remember that you yourself cast from your flock and cut all blood ties with me." Remembering my past that I had forcibly shut out, I found myself seething with many foreign, alien emotions. Coming full circle and pausing in front of me, the seductive woman ran one of her hands over my cheek. Forgetting to shave in the morning does have its benefits.

"My, my Lucian, bitterness does not suit you." Removing her hand from my face, she crossed her hands and arms over chest, thankfully covering scantly-clothed body for the most part. "Don't you remember the fun times we had together?" A smile crossed her face that would have served perfectly on the devil's face itself.

"Fun, Chaos? It was your lust and gluttony that you are remembering." Rage, resentment, or what ever you want to call it, burned clearly in my eyes.
