I Won 'The Gentle Axe' Historical Mystery!
What do you know! I was feeling a bit overwhelmed this evening for the reading and research that I have to do for my historical mystery project -- I'm writing a novel -- and just a while ago, I received an e-mail from The Writing Show owner Paula Berinstein informing me that I'm one of the winners of The Gentle Axe: A Novel Book Giveaway!
The Gentle Axe: A Novel is a historical whodunit set in 19th-century Russia with the detective Porfiry Petrovich in Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment as the protagonist.
I found The Writing Show when I was Googling for podcasts about how to write a historical mystery, and Paula B.'s interview with The Gentle Axe: A Novel author R.N. 'Roger' Morris came up. When I listened to the podcast, I found out that The Writing Show was giving away copies of The Gentle Axe: A Novel to listeners who sent an e-mail message to The Writing Show.
I actually had already inquired about ordering abroad via the local bookstore Fully Booked, but now that this piece of great news came, I don't have to spend anymore! Moreover, the book will definitely teach and inspire me in my quest to write a historical mystery.
Big thanks to Paula Berinstein for the hardback copy of The Gentle Axe: A Novel. You should head out to The Writing Show for articles, contests, podcasts, etc. related to the craft of writing. Paula B's site is one rich resource for writers.
