If You've Been Playing Online Games or Writing Fantasy Stories, Why Not Make A Fantasy Game For a Change?

The reason why I've been here for 30 weeks but had managed to write only two blogs is because of computer game developing ^-^

It's the gaming program I use to make online games. I have already built 15 for the past seven months, and all of them are well-acclaimed by the users in my host site.

The gaming community works similar to this site: you play other people's works, comment on and rate them (I usually comment nicely because I know developing games is difficult, say, a mini game can take a week to finish), discuss bugs and construction ideas, make friends, collect subscribers, rig number of plays, and win contests.

If you're into fantasy, you could model that dream of yours in a 3D world, where everything is visual. You can make maps and storyline that will spice up your game. It is very similar to sharing your stories and poems here in FW, with the exception of members cussing here but not in my game host site. And yeah, a lot of people love Kirby there, but not here ^-^

Here are the few things I learned from developing online games:

• Write your storyline in bad English and nobody cares. Nobody reads them anyway.

• Invent new words and funny names and nobody cares. Sometimes they even praise you for that.

• Use sound-effects in game chat, like the usual kabooommm ^-^

• Speak Chinese. I don't know how I do it, but I suddenly speak in Chinese in game forums.

• Include emoticons when commenting to show how not threatening you are. I have invented tons of emoticons to show my fast-changing mood lol

• Don't say people's games suck, because you'll find yourself out of the loop. You'll soon find your games unplayed, unvoted, unfaved, and under-rated. You're a loser if you do this.

• You are obliged to play bad games from newbies when you become popular, just not to risk your popularity. I always say this line: "you know what, you got potential ^-^ can't wait for your next game, please subscribe to me"

• Pretend you're a 16-year old girl and you're not a gay.

• Learn to be visual even in words: *turns into a hamster and curls onto Carla67's big hand*, Carla67 will say *picks up Hamtaro045 and tickles him on the belly*

• Meet people from New Zealand to Alaska whose family name consists of numbers, and know numerous culture. Once again, you're not sure if the culture is authentic.

• Meet girls online though you're not sure they're girls.

• Meet boys online, though you're not sure if they're not fat.

• Meet the game host administrator and wonder if the GHA is a boy, a girl, combination, or a robot.

• Feel proud of yourself because only a few people can make computer games. And in your case, you're making an online game in real time.

• Enhance your creativity both technically and literarily ^-^

• Do some magic with limited technology and knowledge. Believe me, this is the greatest part ^-^

However, I can't reveal my ID. In a gaming world, everything is anonymous. Unlike here in FW, I have a chance to meet real people.

Till my next blog, which will be tomorrow. Bai bai.
