Living the Cyber Life:
Now that I have a personal subscription to SmartBro, I have become a homebody, and I'm happy about it! Gone are the days and nights when I have to suffer near suffocation because of an overcrowded internet shop, not to mention premature hypertension due to slow connection.
My day begins with sitting in front of the pc, checking my email. Then I visit www.friendster.com and multiply.com, to see if there are new events in the lives of my friends. Next, I log on to my ever-reliable instant messaging tool. After this, I start doing my scheduled work and email my "bosses". Then I write blogs, chat with my cyber friends, download mp3s, and sometimes, play online games.
You may say I am an internet freak, but I guess I am simply living up to my role as part of the "cyber generation". The internet has transformed the lifestyle of so many people, including me. I hold "internet jobs", my social life and my recreations are mostly online. Talk of contact sport and I think of Travian and CounterStrike. If
only I could wash dishes over the internet, I'd be doing that as well! But while I'm having the time of my life window shopping and sometimes shopping on eBay, I must also say that the internet cannot give me everything I need. It has become my comfort zone, but it has also taken away a few important things which I think could have made me a better person.
First, since my job is just one click away, I tend to take for granted the essence of time. I tend to procrastinate. Second, I am beginning to lose my actual social interaction skills. Meeting new people in the chat room is far more different from meeting new friends in person. These are just a few that I can think of right now. And right now, I'm thinking of putting more effort at improving my social life outside of cyber space.

I can relate. This cyberage definitely has its downsides. :)
