the brackets have been announced for the ncaa volleyball championship 2009. this is the 29th women's collegiate volleyball tournament.

divided into four regions, the ncaa volleyball championship 2009 has 64 of the best women's volleyball teams in the nation. the 64 teams are comprised of 31 teams that received conference automatic qualification. the rest of the 33 teams were filled at-large selections.

undefeated penn state is the number one seed for the tournament. the university of texas at austin is number two. florida state and stanford are third and fourth seeds.

of the 64 teams, eight teams are from the pac 10 conference. both the big ten and big 12 conferences have six teams, while the acc has five teams.

penn state and stanford have been in all of the ncaa volleyball championship tournaments. penn state is also the two-time defending champions.
