On the Eve

Well, tomorrow is the big day.  I make the long drive to Whitefish, MT to attend my first writers conference.  I am soooo excited.  I have wanted to attend a writers conference for many years.  I can't believe that I am actually going to attend one.  I know that by this time Sunday I will be on information overload.

I am all packed.  Everything is ready and in the car.  I just have a couple of more things to do tonight and then it will be bedtime.  I know that I will have trouble getting to sleep tonight.  My mind is going to be tripping along.  Oh well, that is life.

Got a call from the church secretary this week.  There is a new family moving to the area next month.  The girls are deaf and are interested in having a Bible study.  The pastor wants me to intrepret the study for them.  Wow....it has been a very long time since I have intrepreted anything.  I dreamed about it all that night.  Of course, I said I would.  We will have to arrange a time that is convenient for both of us.  I spent the next morning looking over my sign language books.  I have become rusty in my skills.  Next month, I will start going to the deaf club at the library.  This month, I have a conference that I will be attending instead.

I have two conferences this month and one the next month.  I had another one this month but I decided not to go.  Too many weekends out.  If I had known, though, that my son was going to be gone on a Boy Scout camping trip, then I would have gone anyways.  I just didn't want to spend another weekend in the month away from my son.  As it is, three weekends within four weeks is enough.

I guess that is it for me today.  When I get back from my conference, I will share some of the highlights of my time in Whitefish.

take care,
