The Actor
Hi, I recently started playing with the idea of writing a novel.
I always imagine myself as a heroine of a story, which makes me imagine all sort of stories... Today a new story developed in my head, and for the first time I decided to write it down. I haven't really worked on it, but I would be SO pleased if you would take a look at it. I think it would be a YA book, as I find it easier writing about teenageyears rather than writing about the unknown twenties. I'm still debating whether it whould have a fantasy-ish twist to it, but I think I'm going to stick to average fiction. I have nevner written before, and English is not my first language. I am by any means an amateur -- But I would love your feed-back and advise conserning this idead of a novel. Have a look, or rather read. If you don't mind of course :)

Chloe is no average teenage girl. She has a secret, which she is not willing to let anyone in on. But she has everyone at school believing she’s just another teenage girl. She gets along with most of the other students there, but none suspects Chloe is playing games. Playing roles and hiding behind comfortable masks that let her adapt and fir in – just about anywhere. She is an actor …and, as far as she knows, no one’s ever called her bluff. But could that change now, with a new student in school? Someone who could inspire her to emerge from behind her masks?
“As she walked down the corridor, observing her fellow classmates as accustomed, she suddenly felt that she wasn’t the only one observing. Her eyes flickered from Jerrod and Carly who had been exchanging saliva to the left where an unfamiliar face caught her eye. He looked her straight into the eyes in a way that made her feel uneasy. Was she too being observed? She felt a slight blush spreading across her face but fought it off by analysing the situation. She knew that it would make no sense for him to observe her or even pay her as much as a glance. It made her feel at ease. A guy like him was clearly one to make a statement, with his obvious confidence oozing from the way he wore his school uniform and carried himself. His slim trousers worn low on his hips, his tie hanging casually around his neck, his shirt not fully buttoned revealing a little bit of skin on chest, his well fitted blazer and messy hair all complemented a casual and confident look. Of course in addition to all this his appearance was striking. Not striking in the way a model’s was but striking because he differed himself from the rest of the guys at school. He did look the same age, but something about him felt so much older, maybe it was his confidence, but it was as if he held the wisdom of an old man. No, she decided, there was no way he’d been looking at her”.
