The River City Writing Awards in FICTION and POETRY

Sponsored by the Hohenberg Foundation

 

Fiction:

First Prize: $1,500

Second and Third Prizes: Publication and one year subscription

CONTEST RULES

1. Any previously unpublished short story of up to 7,500 words is eligible. Simultaneous submissions are NOT permitted.  

2. All manuscripts should be typed, double-spaced, and be accompanied by a cover letter. If applicable, please provide an email address on the cover letter.  

3. The author's name should NOT appear anywhere on the manuscript itself.

4. NEW DEADLINE: All submissions should be postmarked no earlier than January 15th and no later than March 15th.  

5. All manuscripts should be accompanied by a $20.00 entry fee. This fee initiates a one year subscription to The Pinch.

6. The Pinch will publish the first place story.

7. Winners will be notified in June 2007.

8. Contest results will be published in the Spring 2008 issue of The Pinch.

Hello Noid! I thought I

Hello Noid! I thought I might try to participate to such contests and perhaps publish my poems. As usual, I do some research before risking anything. Is there a post about the winning pieces from this contest? I'd like to know what type of literature is welcomed.
