Through the Holidays

Life has been very busy lately.  Been busy with homeschooling my son.  Of course, Thanksgiving has just passed.  We are now in the Christmas season.  Are you ready?  I'm not, by any means.  I am more in the mood for Christmas this year than I have been in the past few years.  We are already listening to Christmas music.  I am looking forward to getting a Christmas tree asap.

I still have a long way to go before finishing Christmas presents.  I am making them for my kids this year.  I normally get them one big gift.  For my youngest son who is still at home, I normally start shopping for little things about June.  But I only get/make him one big thing for the main gift.  I don't worry about whether he gets gifts or not.  His older siblings usually spoil him rotten, especially, his sister.  She always buys him lots of things.  Joshua is very good about Christmas or any gift giving time.  He normally only wants a couple of things.  When the older kids were younger, they always wanted lots of things.  They didn't get them, of course.  I don't believe in buying lots of gifts at Christmas.  I like buying more at birthdays than Christmas.

My writing has been off lately.  I have several things I am suppose to do, but haven't gotten around to do them.  I am working on newsletters, or supposed to be working on them.  Haven't gotten around to them yet.  I must finish this one tomorrow.  I was to do it during the Thanksgiving weekend.  I ended up doing absolutely nothing during Thanksgiving.  It was wonderful.  I just relaxed and read.

Reading is very important activity for a writer, reading the type of material that you want to write.  I did that this weekend.  I have school assignments that I need to research/write.  I haven't done that either.  Yikes...if I think of all I need to do, then I get overwhelmed.  I guess the best thing to do is to do what is in front of you at any given time.  Don't concentrate on what needs to be done.

The New Year will be here before you know it.  Do you have a New Year's resolution?  I don't do a 'New Year's resolution'.  WHat I do is to list about twelve new habits I want to develop during the next year.  Then I work on one of them each month.  By the end of the year, I have accomplished twelve new habits, hopefully.  Most of the time, it is just eight or nine.  But that is not bad overall.  What are some goals you want to accomplish?
