MANILA, September 1, 2008 – Continuing its tradition of honoring Filipino writers and promoting literary arts in the country, the Carlos Palanca Foundation Inc. honored the winners of this year’s Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature.

MANILA, September 1, 2008 - Award-winning authors and other luminaries in the Philippine literary and art circles served as judges for the 58th Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, the Carlos Palanca Foundation announced today.

The judges, whose expertise are well known in literature, academe, television and performing arts, screened 927 entries for the award’s various categories this year.

The awarding ceremonies for the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards were held on September 1 at The Peninsula Manila.
