C'est La Vie

Lit Body:

Life has broken me like a wild mustang
by a cowboy.
This toughness makes me sweeter and
knowing that if I can endure sadness,
it brings me joy.

Pain, anguish, misery and despair
has been replaced by the sweetness
in my eyes.
Innocence lost and I was a fool for love,
but wisdom gained, there is no steal
behind this velvet glove.
C'est la vie, C'est la vie, C'est la vie...

Life has broken me like a hurricane,
coming through, rearranging priorities.
The chaos sent me into action, and I
gained gentleness and kindness.

Pain, anguish, misery and despair

Emily Rose, That's How it Goes

Lit Body:

Emily Rose, that's how it goes…the seasons come and the flowers grow…

Emily Rose and I lived on the same street. She wore the prim and proper blue, red and white plaid uniform of the Saint Theresa's Catholic School for Girls and I wore ragged bellbottoms with fuzzy peace signs plastered over the holes and peasant blouses.
