TWINS™ Magazine Writer's Guidelines and Policies

TWINS™, The Magazine for Parents of Multiples, is a bimonthly, international consumer publication providing informational and educational articles on parenting twins, triplets and higher order multiples.

• TWINS™ accepts queries and manuscripts for features, Special Miracles and short items in Growing Stages. Previously unpublished writers are requested to submit complete manuscripts.

• Feature stories are about 1,300 words including sidebars. Submissions for departments should be about 650 words. Growing Stages items should be about 200 to 250 words.
• Articles should be written in a friendly, conversational style. Please study our format before starting an article and conform to AP style.
• All articles must include parenting guidance and resources and be geared to multiples.
• TWINS™ Magazine works about six months ahead of time. For example, if you have a holiday story query or manuscript for our November/December issue, please submit it by June. We plan for the entire upcoming year in the fall.
• Please send queries by mail to TWINS™ Queries, TWINS™ Magazine, 11211 E. Arapahoe Rd., #101, Centennial, CO 80112-3851 USA. Or e-mail editor@businessword.com. Include a resume and writing samples (published clippings). Please indicate if you are interested in feature assignments. If you'd like your samples returned, include a SASE.
• Fees are negotiated prior to publication and payment is made upon publication. A contract is sent after assignment is made or a manuscript is accepted. You receive a byline with your article and one complimentary copy of the magazine upon publication.
• Please return your original signed contract and appendix, with a short author biography including the month and year in which your multiples were born, if you have multiples.
• When submitting an assigned article, please send it by e-mail as a "text only" or a Word .doc file attachment, and also embed the text in the body of the e-mail, for cross-referencing to the editor of TWINS™ Magazine. You may also submit your article on a CD by mail. (CDs cannot be returned.)
• Please be sure to include complete references, including the year and publisher of any books cited in the article or sidebar. Double check all facts. We also will verify phone numbers and Web site addresses. Please retain source material and documentation for one year.
• We cannot publish an article without a signed contract and cannot pay without an invoice. The invoice must have your name, address, phone number, payment amount, social security number, issue date of magazine and title of article. Please submit your invoice with your article.
• TWINS™ Magazine purchases First North American Serial Rights.
• To obtain a review copy of TWINS™ Magazine, send $6 to Subscriber Services at the above address.
