being ugg manufacturers and one of the larger online retailers of the ugg boot, we womens ugg are constantly being contacted by new sheepskin boot manufacturers offering new product ranges. we recently were contact by a company called emu. one of their reps made an appointment to come and see us in the hope of us adding their product range to our online store's.

on the day of our meeting the rep produced a suitcase packed with these emu ugg style boots. upon inspecting his samples i noticed the majority of their boots looked like they were a china made boot. he explained to me they have an australian made product and also a china made product.

my initial thoughts were ok you guys are seeking the help from china to produce your boots with the benefit of producing a cheaper product due to the very inexpensive labor costs associated with china production. i also thought well some ugg boots are also made ugg discount in china for this very same reason. so that was fine.

after the rep left i went and googled for emu boots. well ugg i found quite a few uk and usa resellers of emu boots online. i also noticed their prices were extremely low. so low in fact that a genuine 100% double faced sheepskin boot whether its call an ugg boot or an emu boot cannot not be manufactured at these low retail prices being offered by emu resellers. not even in china.

so i dug a bit deeper and found a critical difference from an emu boot to an ugg. the emu boots were not 100% sheepskin at all but made from cow suede outer and the inner fleece was a very low grade thin sheepskin. they call this cheap internal fleece lining (australian merino wool lined - micron 20 merino wool) well i hate to spill the beans but this fleece is in no way merino sheepskin and not even half the quality as top australian sheepskin. products like the bronte and hip styles are not 100% sheepskin and in no way can be compared to ugg discount a real sheepskin ugg boot.

you may be asking yourself well they are cheaper. they say they are sheepskin lined. so why would i buy a 100% sheepskin ugg when i can save a dollar. well i have a couple of good reason why you should dig a little deeper in your pocket to purchase the real deal.

cow suede external/ sheepskin lined boots versus 100% sheepskin double faced uggs. ok ill try to explain - cow suede does not breath no matter what anyone tells you. this is a fact. so if you wear a suede outer boots like the emu boot within a very short period of time you will notice your feet will be constantly sweating when wearing. their is just no air circulation and no matter if its cold or hot your feet will kind of condensate and within a couple of weeks you will find that they smell so much you are forced put them to retirement. yes you could wash them to buy ugg boots relieve the smell some what but yes a week later you will have the same problem - smelly feet and boots. this could also be quite an embarrassment is certain circumstances. no one wants smelly feet now do they.

ugg cardy opposed to this is your 100% australian made sheepskin ugg boot. yes sheepskin will breath as long as its 100% sheepskin externally and internally (which is called double faced sheepskin) this will solve the problem as your feet will not sweat which in turn rectifies the issue of smelly boots and feet. so the bottom line is yes micron 20 merino wool lined boots made by emu are cheap but they are cheap for a reason. they are not 100% sheepskin and are not a ugg boot in the way ugg boots were intended.
